Pomodoro Timer

Focus in simple work intervals, take intentional breaks, and keep your next study session easy to start.

Focus in intervals

Start a study session

The default cycle is 25 minutes of study followed by a 5-minute short break. Customize it when your session needs a different rhythm.

The quick guide

Make focused work feel manageable

The timer is a simple structure, not a rulebook. Adjust the rhythm to fit your energy and task.

What is the Pomodoro technique?

The Pomodoro technique breaks study time into focused work intervals separated by short breaks. A complete study interval counts as one session, giving you a small, visible unit of progress instead of one long block to begin.

How to use the timer

Choose your study and break lengths, start the timer, and stay with one task until the phase ends. Pause when you need to, reset when your plan changes, or skip to move to the next phase.

A few practical tips

Set up the next interval well

  • Choose one small outcome for each study interval.
  • Use the break to move, drink water, or rest your eyes.
  • Keep distractions out of reach before pressing Start.
  • Adjust the duration if the default cycle does not suit the task.

FAQ

Will the timer stay accurate if I switch tabs?

Yes. While running, the timer uses a timestamp deadline and reconciles against the current time instead of trusting a one-second decrement. It can also advance through phases that finished while the tab was inactive.

Do I have to enable sound or notifications?

No. Both are optional. Sound is off by default and only plays after you interact with the timer and enable it. Browser notifications are requested only after you select the notification control.

What does the completed session counter count?

It counts study intervals that finish naturally. Skipping a phase moves the timer forward but does not count an unfinished study interval as completed.
